Routine dental check-ups are vital to good oral hygiene and are the best way to detect problems at their earliest stages. Early detection and treatment saves unnecessary discomfort, time and money.
We know that children who come and see us from an early age and regularly, tend to feel more comfortable in the dentist chair and we can be sure we are monitoring and providing the best care available. We recommend a dental check-up schedule of at least once a year, on occasion we might ask to see them twice.
What to Expect
Your dental check-up includes:
- A visual exam of your mouth, face, jaw and neck
- Professional cleaning of your teeth
- Comprehensive data capture in an electronic dental record
During a visual exam, your dentist will use tools which contain sophisticated magnification and lighting to see all surface areas inside your child’s mouth.
Your dentist looks not only for weak, cracked or decayed teeth, but also for any abnormalities around the roof and floor of the mouth, tongue, lips and gums.
Your child’s teeth are cleaned to remove build up and if necessary fluoride can be applied to maintain strength.
